In under a year, Aircall built an affiliate program of more than 300 partners that now drives 8 per cent of its inbound lead volume, with a 63 per cent qualified-to-won rate. At Jungle Scout, affiliates drove 30 per cent of net-new annual company revenue in 2023.
There’s plenty of room for affiliate programs to do meaningful work in your 2027 growth plan. The question is which B2B affiliate campaigns you want to build around them, and how early you need to start.
For this article, we draw on insights from Tye DeGrange, founder and CEO of B2B partner marketing agency Round Barn Labs. DeGrange has more than 20 years of performance marketing experience, and Round Barn Labs has built partner programs for brands like Google Workspace, Atlassian and Superhuman.
Why 2027 affiliate pipeline starts before January
The best time to plan next year’s affiliate campaigns is while there’s still room to shape them. That means getting ahead of partner calendars, giving new affiliates time to ramp and deciding where across the buyer journey you want them to make a difference.
The ramp time is real. Unlike paid ads, “it’s not a speedboat,” DeGrange says. Even with a self-serve product, a new partner “is going to take longer to get dialed in, take longer to get set up, take longer to build those relationships and recruit and activate and optimize.”
The payoff is worth the wait. According to PartnerStack and Wynter’s State of Partnerships in GTM 2026 report, 35 per cent of new pipeline at mid-market and enterprise B2B SaaS companies is partner-influenced or partner-sourced.
Many of the campaigns in our B2B affiliate campaign ideas for 2026 article, such as partner webinars and trial pushes, can launch at almost any time. The strategies below each depend on partners, assets or cross-functional support that take months to put in place.

1. The category-answer coverage sprint
A category-answer coverage sprint helps your affiliates create useful content around questions buyers ask before choosing a product.
Recruit publishers around high-intent questions
Start with questions about use cases, alternatives, integrations, implementation and how options stack up. Then recruit publishers with credibility in those areas to create content.Â
Remember, the goal is an answer prospects can trust. Don’t make the mistake of handing partners a generic keyword list; instead, give them product knowledge, customer evidence, data and expert access.
Build now: prompt map, publisher shortlist, evidence pack and citation baseline
Map the questions buyers ask search engines and AI assistants in your category, then shortlist publishers already trusted on those topics. Package the product facts, customer examples, original data and approved claims partners will need into an evidence pack. Record where you appear for priority questions in search and AI answers so you have a baseline to measure against.
Best-fit affiliates: Specialist publishers, review sites, niche newsletters and industry media.
Preparation: 3–4 months.
Success signals: Qualified traffic, referrals, assisted conversions and visibility in search and AI answers.

2. The niche expert tutorial cohort
Your best affiliate creators need something useful to show their audience. With a niche expert tutorial cohort, creators teach their viewers how to solve the problems your product addresses.
Pair practitioners with repeatable workflows
For instance, a RevOps practitioner could demonstrate an automation they use every week, or an agency owner could build a client workflow from start to finish. Real workflows show buyers the product in action, not just a feature list.
Build now: creator vetting, sandbox access, briefs and disclosure rules
Shortlist creators by expertise and audience relevance, not follower count alone. Give them product access and workflow briefs. That investment in education pays off. DeGrange sees it as one of the strongest levers a program has: “I think that education piece, if done right, can really outshine a lot of the other levers.” Then agree on tracking, disclosures and claims before publication.
Best-fit affiliates: Practitioners, consultants, educators, YouTubers, LinkedIn creators and specialist newsletter writers.
Preparation: 2–4 months.
Success signals: Qualified clicks, trials, demos and conversions.

3. The product or integration launch network
A product or integration launch gives affiliates something new to bring to their audience. Involve the right partners early so they can build useful content around it from day one.
Coordinate different angles around the launch
Give each affiliate partner an angle that fits their audience, such as a feature walkthrough, integration demo, workflow explanation or use-case story.
Build now: launch calendar, embargoed enablement, tracking and incentives
Match priority launches with relevant affiliates. Give them early access, documentation, demos, approved claims, tracking links and details of any launch incentives. If the launch is under embargo, agree on timing and terms in advance.
Best-fit affiliates: Integration specialists, technical creators, ecosystem publishers, consultants and product reviewers.
Preparation: 6–12 weeks.
Success signals: Qualified traffic, product activation, opportunities and conversions.

4. The vertical proof campaign
A message that works for one industry may not land with another. So build your campaigns around specific industries.Â
Give affiliates a story their audience can see themselves in
Start with industries where you have enough customers, use cases or results to tell a credible story. Build around the workflows, problems, integrations and objections that matter to that audience.
Build now: vertical messaging, proof library, compliance review and landing pages
Choose a few priority industries and develop messaging and landing pages for each. Give partners customer stories, results, workflow examples and approved claims, reviewed for any industry-specific compliance requirements.
Best-fit affiliates: Industry publications, vertical consultants, specialist creators and niche communities.
Preparation: 3–5 months.
Success signals: Qualified leads, sales-accepted opportunities, conversions and target-industry revenue.
5. The competitive migration campaign
Some of your best prospects are people who already know they need a product but are using something else. The affiliate needs to help them decide whether switching is worth the effort.
Help buyers evaluate alternatives without scripted or unsupported claims
Give partners room to cover migration, integrations, workflows and practical differences. The best content helps someone work through the decision.
DeGrange describes the kind of publisher content that earns buyer trust: “It’s not a straight ad that’s just touting. It’s very much educating the buyer about pros and cons vis-à -vis the competition.”
Build now: comparison data, migration resources, claim review and partner training
Create a current source of truth for competitive claims. Give partners migration guides, checklists, documentation and answers to common switching questions. Train them on what they can substantiate.
Best-fit affiliates: Comparison publishers, review sites, consultants, migration specialists and software educators.
Preparation: 2–4 months.
Success signals: Qualified comparison traffic, conversions, sales opportunities and switching revenue.
6. The affiliate-led benchmark report
Your affiliates are always looking for something worth talking about. Original research gives them a reason to start a conversation that isn’t another product announcement.
Combine first-party data with partner reach and expert interpretation
The strongest reports start with a question the market cares about. Your data provides evidence; partners add perspective and reach. Sangram Vajre, co-founder of GTM Partners, makes a similar case in a LinkedIn post, arguing that original research can become a content moat when it gives buyers insights they can’t find elsewhere.
Build now: research question, methodology, contributors and distribution rights
Start by agreeing on the research question and methodology. Decide which partners can distribute the findings before research is finished. Bring contributors in early and prepare formats they can publish.
Best-fit affiliates: Analysts, practitioners, research-focused publishers, newsletter writers and expert creators.
Preparation: 4–6 months.
Success signals: Partner distribution, qualified traffic, citations, sales opportunities and influenced revenue.

7. The buyer-enablement toolkit
A product page explains what your software does. A useful tool helps a buyer decide what to do next.
Give affiliates practical assets such as an ROI calculator, evaluation checklist, implementation planner or migration template.
Create calculators, checklists, templates and implementation planners
Start with the decision that slows buyers down. Build the asset around it, then make it easy for partners to share.
Build now: asset ownership, partner variants, attribution paths and CRM handoff
Decide who owns each asset and how it stays current. Create partner-ready versions, define tracking and make the lead handoff clear before launch.
Best-fit affiliates: Consultants, educators, comparison publishers, implementation partners and operational communities.
Preparation: 2–3 months.
Success signals: Asset completions, qualified leads, sales acceptance and influenced opportunities.

8. The event intelligence network
A major industry event gives partners something timely to talk about. The opportunity is helping them explain what happened and why it matters.
Turn conferences and industry moments into durable affiliate coverage
Start with events that matter to buyers, then identify partners with an audience around those topics. A newsletter might break down announcements, while a specialist creator explains what changed.
Build now: event calendar, correspondent partners, content windows and recap formats
Build an event calendar, decide which moments deserve partner coverage and line up the partners who will cover them. Agree on the content window and format before the event.
Best-fit affiliates: Industry newsletters, analysts, podcasters, event-focused creators and specialist publications.
Preparation: 6–10 weeks.
Success signals: Qualified event traffic, registrations, engagement and opportunities.
9. The customer-to-affiliate proof engine
Your customers can tell a story your marketing team can’t. They know what problem they had, why they chose your product and what changed.Â
Find customers with a story worth sharing
Look for customers who have solved problems your prospects face and have something useful to say. Ask what changed, what they learned and what they would tell someone considering the same solution.
Build now: advocate criteria, consent, story capture, onboarding and rewards
Set clear criteria, get permission to use their stories and make the program simple to join. Give partners tracking links, product context, compensation details and disclosure guidance.
Best-fit affiliates: Customers, practitioners, consultants and customer-led communities.
Preparation: 2–4 months.
Success signals: Customer-generated content, qualified referrals, influenced pipeline, conversions and repeat participation.
10. The expansion and add-on campaign
A customer who bought one product may have another problem you can solve. An affiliate who already has their trust, such as the consultant who implemented your product or the creator whose tutorials their team follows, can surface it.
Give partners a reason to re-engage customers
Identify customers most likely to have an expansion opportunity, using product usage, team changes or workflow signals. Then, match them with the partners already working with those accounts, and share only what each partner needs to help.
Give affiliates a clear reason to reach out: a new use case, feature or problem customers commonly face.
Build now: eligible cohorts, lifecycle triggers, commission rules and retention guardrails
Decide which customers and actions qualify for affiliate credit. Set commission rules and attribution windows, then add guardrails so incentives don’t create unnecessary sales activity.
The goal is to reward the expansion that partners actually influence. DeGrange values each partner action differently to avoid “spending too much on what could be considered low quality or not as incremental.”
Best-fit affiliates: Consultants, educators, implementation partners, product specialists and creators serving existing customers.
Preparation: 2–3 months.
Success signals: Expansion revenue, adoption, upgrades and retention.
Turn 10 ideas into one campaign portfolio
Score each strategy on fit, readiness, evidence, effort, time to impact and revenue potential.Â
DeGrange recommends using a take on the ICE framework (impact, cost and effort) to force a clear conversation about which campaigns deserve investment and which can wait. The result might be “a stack rank of why… this campaign is more important than the other 10 we’re passing on,” he says.
Here’s one way to sequence B2B affiliate campaigns across the year. Since most strategies need two to six months of preparation, campaigns launching in Q1 need to start building now.
- Q1: Category-answer coverage and expert tutorial cohort (discovery and education)
- Q2: Vertical proof and launch network (evaluation and product relevance)
- Q3: Benchmark report and competitive migration (evaluation and conversion)
- Q4: Customer proof engine and expansion campaign (conversion and expansion)
- Year-round: Event intelligence network and a buyer-enablement toolkit (timely coverage and decision support)

Make every affiliate campaign count in 2027
The final test is whether a campaign can move beyond activity into business value. Partner content, clicks and referrals are useful signals, but they are not the end goal. Each campaign should have a defined buyer moment, the right partners to influence it and a measurable outcome.
Plan for that before the year begins, and you enter 2027 knowing which partners you need, what you want to build with them and what success should look like when you get there.
Each of these strategies depends on the same foundation: finding the right partners, equipping them early and measuring what they influence. PartnerStack gives you one place to recruit partners, manage and activate them, and track the revenue they drive.
